Green Peas Methi Rice

I love cooking this  for parties as it is easy to prepare and the taste of this dish is different from the other rice recipes.This is one of the healthy dishes.Can be served with any gravy curries.


                                                                                         
Ingredients:
2 cups long grain basmathi rice
1/2 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
Chopped onions
3 cardamom pods
4cloves
1/2 thin piece of cinnamon
1/2 cup Methi leaves
1/2 cup of Soya Chunks
1/2 cup Green peas
2 tbsp black pepper
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp oil or butter

Intial Preparations:

  • Wash and drain the rice. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large saucepan. When the water boils, add the rice, salt and lemon juice. Stir gently. When the water boils again, reduce heat to low.Let the rice boil completely.
  • Bring water to boil and add salt and soya chunks.Leave it for 15 minutes.Then remove it from water, rinse it well to get rid of the smell and squeeze out the excess water.
  • Boil plenty of water in a large pan. Add the green  peas. Boil for 2 minutes.
Method:
Step 1:Heat oil or butter in a pan.
Step 2:Add cloves,cardamom and cinanmon.Lower the flame and fry it untill fragnant.
Step 3:Add onions and fry them untill they change colour.
Step 4:Add methi leaves and fry untill it oozes water.
Step 5:Now you can add green peas,soya chunks and ginger garlic paste.
Step 6:Fry well.Lower the flame and cover with a lid and leave for 2 min.
Step 7:Add pepper powder and salt.
Step 8:Now you can add rice and mix it well and leave it for 3 min.
